I bought this book since I was looking for a good book on fossils and minerals since I am a amature rock hounder. What a great find it turned out to be. The book would really be a great introduction for anyone interested in earth history, fossils, minerals, and global climate and other interesting areas of earth study. It would make a great gift to any young student, or rock hounder. Every time I pick it up I find facinating information on evolution, or oil shale, or trilobites
