In contrast, base-catalyzed reactions have received little attention in heterogeneous catalysis. The aim of this symposium was to evaluate our knowledge of the important area of acid and base catalysis and to cover a broad range of solids, zeolite chemistry being only one aspect of heterogeneous catalysis. Published February 1st 1985 by Elsevier Science & Technology (first published January 1st 1985).

Studies in surface science and catalysis

Studies in surface science and catalysis. Structural and physico-chemical properties of the catalysts were investigated using X ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), BET-sorption, and temperature programmed reduction-, or desorption coupled with mass spectrometry, (TPR-MS or TPD-MS). While MW and MWHyd catalysts exhibited the same XRD patterns indexed as pure perovskite structure, their surface physico-chemical properties were found to be strongly. influenced by the preparation procedure.

Because of the great importance of acid catalysis in the petrochemical industry, extensive research has been carried out during the last 30 years concerning the fundamental and applied aspects of catalysis by acids.
