Book 3 of this series finds E.J. Ferris, former military police officer turned mall cop, on duty while her action star father films a movie at the Fernglen Galleria, E.J.’s stomping grounds. E.J. suddenly has more than shoplifting teens to worry about.

E.J. has a new boss, whose passion in life is designing better uniforms for the security staff. E.J. is still striving to get a “real” job with a police force, but her injuries received in her military career continue to hold her back. She’s still trying to keep her relationship with her father a secret. Her father’s still trying to get her to join his company as head of security. Oh, and E.J.’s father may be having an affair with someone on set, and may also have a stalker. Oh, and she has to keep her mother from becoming a “person of interest” with the police, because her mother might know something about the central murder.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters continue to grow and the plot held my interest. What I particularly liked was that E.J. and her father were able to come to a rapprochement about their respective careers. The ending was satisfying, and left a window for more adventures. However, I believe this was the last in the series, which is a pity. I think there is much more entertainment to be found at the Fernglen Galleria, and opportunities for mystery-solving elsewhere.

This series keeps getting better. If you haven't read the first two Mall Cop books, do so. Malled to Death can be read and enjoyed without reading the previous two, but why deprive yourself? EJ is a wounded warrior - a veteran of the war in Afghanistan who must give up her military career due to a leg injury. When police departments do not offer her a job, she resorts to security work at a suburban mall. This setting presents plenty of entertaining situations and characters. EJ must operate as an amateur sleuth since being a mall cop does not carry any official status, a situation that a handsome local detective reminds her of constantly.

In Malled to Death, EJ's famous actor father takes center stage when his action movie is filmed at the Fernglen Mall. EJ has spent her adult life trying to escape the Hollywood scene. Complicating things further, the mysterious proprietor of a cookie shop on the food court escalates their relationship.

Without getting political or maudlin, DiSilverio weaves the plight of wounded war veterans into her story when a soldier with a head injury is implicated in a movie prop manager's death. EJ feels compelled to clear the soldier of the murder and sorts through the many suspects with the help of her retired CIA agent grandfather.

I tried to solve the murder before the final scene, but the ending caught me by surprise. If you are looking for a fun read with the right combination of humor and depth, try the Mall Cop series. You won't be disappointed.

This third novel in the series finds EJ Ferris, mall cop still trying to find a job with a 'real' police department. Having been seriously injured by an IED in Afganistan while in the Air Force, EJ is finding herself becoming emotionally invested in the Fernglen Galleria and it's occupants. The harmony is disrupted when EJ's father, Movie Actor and Producer, Ethan Jarrett manages to convince the mall owners to allow him to film his latest action movie, 'Mafia Mistress' in the mall.

EJ, not only has to contend with increased crowds, but a brain injured war veteran, hiding her personal relationship to Ethan (he doesn't want his fans knowing he has a grown child,) and now her new boss, a high fashion designer trying to re-design the uniforms! Life is becoming a circus, when suddenly the stakes are raised...the Property Master is found stabbed in the Men's restroom.

EJ feels this is personal, after all it occurred in her 'mall,' so she decides to ferret out the culprit. The danger increases when EJ finds out her Father is receiving stalking letters.

This was a good mystery novel and I enjoyed seeing EJ becoming more three dimensional. I look forward to the next volume.

EJ is a mall cop with an attitude and a need to prove herself after her injury in the military sidelines her career. Her family is a little nuts and her co-workers abnormally normal. Add a murder or two and you get an entertaining and enjoyable story.

Love the characters in this book and the plot kept me guessing until the very end. Strongly recommend this book to those who enjoy mysteries and the ongoing thread of romance!

I was eagerly anticipating the release of Malled to Death and Laura DiSilverio solidly delivered with this new book in the series. This book picks up a couple of months after the last book. EJ's actor Dad, Ethan Jarrett has taken his film company to Fernglen Mall to shoot a movie. The resulting chaos is the backdrop of the mystery. Of course, Grandpa Atherton, Detective Anders Helland, EJ's mom,Brenda, Joel and Kyra all make an appearance in this cozy. I liked how the author gave us a bit more of the backstory surrounding EJ's recovery from her injuries. I love the touches of humor and fast paced action. If you're looking for a fun, well written cozy mystery series, The Mall Cop mysteries are sure to delight!

POSSIBLE SPOILER: I'll disclose that I wasn't as happy with the selection that EJ has apparently made by getting more involved with Joel, since I'm most definitely in Team Anders camp.

love the storyline of this series - hate that it's only mass published size books - but that's the only way the come - vendor was splendid got it shipped out pronto
A cat that tangles shoe laces; two injures to fix-up; a head of security that can only design unwanted/unneeded uniforms; at least one murder........I could go on, but that would spoil the fun.
