I love listening to old time radio shows because not only are the plots exciting and entertaining but, I can also share them with my entire family. Unlike television the story lines are clean of offenses like profanity and constant gun play. These shows also gives each listener's imagination a good workout. The stage and characters play out each plot in the listener's mind so anything was possible. I highly recommend these shows to anyone who loves a good plot and good wholesome talent that you cannot find in today's entertainment world.

Fun to experience what my parents enjoyed when they were kids. An anthology series with crime and suspense stories usually with a twist at the end. What I love about them is that they are complete with introductions and commercial ads (Signal Gasoline) and hosted by Marvin Miller. A personal opinion, the best actress on the entire series is Mercedes McCambridge. Hearing her in the one story she guests on, makes me understand why Orson Welles called her the greatest actress on radio.

Along with the Shadow, I guess The Whistler had one of the best openings on radio and many of the better story lines.....I also remember that I enjoyed The Black Hood which was introduced by the music from The Sorcerer's Apprentice.....At any rate in those days of yesteryear, the Whistler plots were standouts as these dvds illustrate....

Suspense and thrills in 30 minutes. The writing is so much better than current day fare and the acting is fantastic. I love these shows.

I love these hokey old mysteries that take one back to a time when radio was king. They evoke a picture of people sitting around a radio, hot chocolate in hand, waiting breathlessly the next installment.

If you like the Whistler old time radio series you can't go wrong with this CD set. The audio quality is first rate.

I like old-time broadcasts, but the sound quality of this production is a bit too soft and hard to hear.
