Published May 19th 2015 by Prima Games. This book was -extremely- helpful while playing Witcher 3. The game isn't very good at explaining its own mechanics in the beginning, so this book helped to fill the gaps. 0804162980 (ISBN13: 9780804162982). I also got stuck several times and this book was very useful in getting unstuck. Being able to read all the endings without having to replay the game 3+ times was an extraordinary time saver. to give you some idea, it took me almost 450 hours to do absolutely everything there was to do in the game).

Nice quality assurance, Prima. It's not like you couldn't have bothered to delete one of these two paragraphs that literally say the same thing right next to each other

This is an excellent guide. On both fronts, for actual use or if you just enjoying collecting them. Well made, (strong binding) great artwork, stats on just about everything. I've posted some pics as well to help give you an idea of the guide itself. I've included a couple more pics, one more of the inside (no spoilers), and what the companion book is like.

Nice quality assurance, Prima. It's not like you couldn't have bothered to delete one of these two paragraphs that literally say the same thing right next to each other. Even within this one case out of many, there's an inconsistency, being that "scavenger hunts" is capitalized in one, but not the other. How does stuff like this go unnoticed, or let through on purpose?

And, on the map of Hierarch Square, you used the icon for an Armourer, as you should have, but then labeled it as a Blacksmith in the key below. Amazing.

Is it really so difficult to check over your work before slapping it down and tossing it out the door?

Well, I understand, seeing as how most of your audience won't catch the mistakes, or be bothered by them, even though they spent money on the product; and it's not like you would advertise your carelessness, so why would you care, right? You already got your money, right?

Sheesh...

Bought this and the game years ago. Just now getting around to it.

It's okay.

Is it worth it for the 30 pages of pasted together concept art pieces in the back?

Not to me.

A very good guide that gives you a clear run through the entire game, with some small discrepencies.

1. This book lists only 15 Stone of Power...there are actually 25 not 15....some of these stones are only accessible through the main questline. (maybe that is why there is only 15 listed? not exactly certain on this). These stones are very important because each stone grants one talent point up to 25 points.

2. There were over a dozen DLCs available on the day of release, of those DLCs the Griffin, Cat, Wolven, Ursine crafting patterns were among those. The locations of these treasure hunts are not available within this guide as a result...I feel like they should have been. As it takes a significant chunk of time to locate these patterns already.

3. Endings: without this guide I would have been seriously annoyed when I reached the endgame, I would have made, unwittingly, dozens of choices that would have ruined the game in my eyes, kudos to the writers for making the impact of your choices clear!

Other than that, this guide is great for helping get you the gear, talents and ending you desire.

The layout of the books is quite nice and separates the sections into easy to find and reference format. The first part is naturally the 'how to play' portion but it goes into far greater detail than I ever expected the book to go. For example, I did not know you only had to meditate to refill your potions and bombs utilizing hard alcohol you've collected. I also didn't know you can use the crossbow underwater for one shot kills there. Furthermore, did you know you can slow down time while holding the attack button while on a horse at galloping speed to better aim your swipe? The 'how to play' section is everything you'd expect and more, definitely worth the read, unlike other strategy guides where you can just skip this section and not miss much.
The huge chunk of this book is then devoted to two types of quests: Main line story quests and secondary quests. In a bit of inspired editing, the secondary quests that have a direct effect on the main story and/or its characters is included alongside the main line story quests. This is great when you want to follow the 'recommended' order of following the story and complete sidequests right alongside the main quest and not miss out on a single crucial decision! The next section after deals with every other secondary quest, witcher contract, races, treasure hunts, woman conquests and more, carefully detailing out all the potential variations of each quest based on YOUR decisions. So you can freely choose how you want the quest to play out with this knowledge. (they did this too in the main line story quest section as well)
The remainder of the book is an exhaustive collection of appendices detailing the bestiary, all your potential armor pieces and swords and how to craft them, alchemy and how to craft each, maps and locations pointed out for every area. There is no stone left unturned in this book and it is much appreciated from someone who loves to get 100% in every game. A purchase well worth the money! A great companion to the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt game. The additional 'lore' book that comes with isn't too shabby either and a highly interesting read in its own right. Recommended.

This is a very good guide. The walkthrough is very nice and useful. There is a list of the quests in alphabetical order with page references. I find this list much better than just paging through the guide since the quests are ordered kind of weird (main quests are in time order by when you run into them, and secondary quests are in a separate section). There is a very nice listing in the back of all items that can be found in the game. The maps cover everything, and thus are sometimes confusing, as every little loot spot and other points of interest are all there.

Each map also shows where all shops are in the map. However, my biggest grips, there is no separate listing of just shops and their locations. Instead, as stated, only the maps show the locations. I found the lack of a separate shop listing list to be rather hard to deal with since the maps are somewhat small and no better than the World Map to be honest (although on the world map, when shops close they are no longer shown in game).

There are some notes for character progression, but mostly the skills are a list with no notes. Still ok I guess.

The whole guide is beautiful and there is an art section in the very back. This is a good guide.
