Gavinrage

There are many interesting renditions the Odyssey, but I was struggling to find one about the Trojan War for my 6 year old. While this CD is probably better for a 7 or 8 year old (in that he doesn't "love" it and ask for it over and over like he did for MP Osborne's Odyssey) he did listen all the way through and asked good questions periodically about who was who, so I know he listened.
The recording is clear, and the text complex enough I enjoyed it. I'll be keeping it for kiddo to "discover" when he is a little older.

Addendum: A year later, at 7, kiddo does ask to hear the whole thing through. He's listened to it a dozen times. I am very pleased with it.

ETA: Even more years later, ten year old kiddo loves this CD and listens to it while he "tinkers" in the garage.

I'm deligted with this series. So often I have used movies to supplement my lesson plans on Greek Mythology. This audio challenges the listener to use his/her imagination to picture the scenes. The music and the dramatic reading make the lessons more entertaining.

Too much speaking of gods. My kids were looking at me like "are we supposed to be listening to this?"
Maybe we will listen again in a few years...but definately not for children 8 or 9. I would say maybe after 10 or 12. A more mature audience. We only listened to a few minutes.
