This book discusses Time-Dependent Local Density Approximation& importance in both elucidating electronic surface excitations and describing the ground state properties of electronic systems.

The electron spin is exchanged with a molecular one by the electric molecule–solid electron repulsion, mixing the bonding and antibonding states and affecting the molecule rotation. Finally, the magnetic hyperfine contact transfers the electron spin angular momentum to the nuclei. Two families of channels are considered and a simple criterion based on the SO coupling strength is proposed to select the most efficient one.
